2011-2014 or 2015 Mustang?

I have been thinking of getting another Mustang. I have seen quite a few 2012 and 2013 Gt's with mods and miles in the lower 20's for 19k to 22k. Or another option is to look into a left over 2015 GT base. I have not drove either style and was wondering if anyone here can compare the two on what they like and don't like? It would be my daily driver.

I drove a '15 today and I was impressed more than I expected. The tech stuff is great. Track apps, adjustable steering suspension and shifting algorithms, back up camera, etc. The line-loc function works....great! But it all costs more money. They are getting up there and options add up quick. And the car is not small. A lot of nose from the drivers seat.

I personally would lean to the '11 to '14. Better drag car, easier to tune, same basic 5.0, still modern and a real value.

It depends what you want.

If you want the best bang for the buck, 11-14. They are great cars, a good chassis and not too expensive.

If you want something completely different than any other Mustang every produced, go with the 15. They are a hell of a car. Great setup, more of a sports car than a pony car IMO. They handle great, same great 5.0L, better ride, better control, more refined interior. Fit an finish is the benchmark for Mustangs. The downfall is the price. You are likely to spend 30-40K but it should hold its value a bit better than the S197 platform.

I was just having this convo with another member here. We were talking about the differences in the cars thru the years. Fox to SN95 wasn't a crazy jump in R&D, from the SN95 to the S197 was a HUGE improvement. S197 to S550 is almost equally as big of a jump for improvement.

I test drove a 15 GT with the Performance Package and fell in love with it. The whole car is great. If you were looking for a better DD, I would go with the 15+. The 13-14 cars are nice too, but dont compare to the new body style.

It's a tough call for me, my oldest wants me to get a 03-04 cobra. He says that is his favorite car and body style. He seems to think that what ever I buy it will be his in 3 years to drive. I drove a 14 GT today and it was nice with 22,000 miles and asking $24,500 at a dealer. I think that I'll get a 11-14 or a 03-04 cobra so I can stay in my budget. I'm living in Florida but will be back in Michigan this week. I'll be looking in Michigan for one to drive down and leave my truck at my parents.

Terminators have magic dust on them! Crazy how 10 years separates the Termi and the Coyote and yet they compare in price. I gotta think the '14 is a much "better" car with comparable performance and tons of potential. But still…. those old Cobras…… :)

I have little doubt that the '15s are the best Mustang yet produced... but I still haven't warmed up on the looks. I'd take a built '03-04 Terminator over a stock 2015 at the same price

I would have a really tough time deciding between the '15 GT and a '13 Boss 302. Not that you can buy one, but a Boss 302 with the S550 IRS is a great car. It's doesn't take a whole lot of work to convert though...

The 15 is vastly superior in day to day driving. If you want to see the difference in chassis between the two find a curve that has bumps/potholes, go around at steady throttle or even on the throttle, in the 11-14 the back end will skip out, in the 15 it will just power forward. The ramp from Eastbound 94 to the Lodge South is really good for this.

General day to day ride quality on Michigan roads is better, the seating position is better, the steering column angle is better. Now that I have my new laptop I might be able to edit my video review of the one I had a couple months ago.

The '15 is a great car. Finding a leftover the way you want options/colors will be the tough part.

I picked up a low mile 2014 today. Now I need some better wheels for it.
Congrats! What options does it have? If you're looking for wheels, check forums for people doing take offs, Forgestar/Flow Form, or the Ford Performance ones.
