Hi Guys and Girls,

It's that time of the year again... it's time to get ready for racing.

COST INFO

We're going to do a few things differntly this year. The base cost for renting Milan for an event is 40 cars at $60 each. So were going to try to get people to commit as soon as possible so we don't fall short on the car count as we did last year.

So we will be using PayPal to allow people to prepay their track fees for the events. We be using the following pricing:

PrePaid Racing fees using PayPal, Check or Money Order to the club will be:
$45 for active club members
$55 for alumnae club members and everyone else

Payment at the gate on race day will be:
$50 for active club members
$60 for alumnae club members and everyone else

We will continue to allow all visitors to attend our race events for free. We want the family and friends to come out and have a good time with us so bring them along.

Race Days:

We have the standard 9AM-Noon Saturday options, Thursday night Rentals from 5PM-9PM and a new option for Friday day rentals from 9AM-3PM.

The weekday and weeknight rentals cost the same. So the obvious attraction of the Friday daytime rental is a bounus two hours over the night at the same cost and a whopping 3 extra hours of racing over a Saturday rental for less money. :D

We'd like to shoot for three races this year. So the likely target months would be May, Sep and Oct. June and July are tough because of vactions and August is the backup because of the heat and Woodward chewing up a lot of the time.

So we'll get with Milan this week and see what options we have for Saturday morings, Thursday nights and Friday daytime rentals. Then we'll post those up and get some voting going on to nail down the events by next week so people can start planning.

By the way, if we prebook and we know we're in the clear on base costs... that makes it easier to justify prep out to the 1/8 for all you fast guys on a friday day rental. Just a carrot to think about to justify taking the day off of work becuase you suspect you might be sick. :D

Very cool Rick. And just so everyone understands, we intend to try to book the 40 cars this year so we can make sure the costs for the rental are covered.

Hopefully I can get my car back together in time for the first rental. I am hoping to make some upgrades this year that will allow me to put a stickier tire on it and see what she'll actually do. :naughty:

I may actually be able to make one of these.

Sept.=my kid being born
Oct=too late, back to work in NC
May= might be too early (but it's my only shot)

I will however, be up there for the Motor City Rumble July 10th
and WWDC!!! :)

I think the idea of pre-paying is actually a good one in a couple of ways. First is the guarantee of covering expenses. Second, its' better incentive to not bail at the last minute. You got skin in the game. I can't tell you how many times I've bailed at the last minute because of the least bit of friction with whatever I'm doing before hand. Now it'll be "I gotta go. I'm already paid."

I love the idea of a Friday race. I'd take the damn day off! Five hours of track time?! Are you kidding me?! Awesome!

I'm going to make a serious effort to get to all 3 races this year. I'm liking where this is going.:w00t:

I really liked the night rentals we did in the past.
I'm hoping to be able to race my car this year but with a new job coming up Friday all day may be hard to swing.

All day friday rentals work great for me since I'm on midnights :D

I'll be there for all 3 probably with 2 cars.
