2010 Fusions..school me..

my brother has the 3.5 sport fully loaded, its very peppy

faster than the 08 he had previous that was v6 fully loaded

SE/SEL are (mostly interior) option packages. Sport models have suspension upgrades and usually 18" wheels. 2010+ Fusion Sport also has the 3.5L V6, whereas the non-Sport V6 is only the 3.0L. For 2006-2009 the sport package was available on I4 and V6 models, both SE and SEL. Therefore, the SEL model in no way handled or rode better than the SE, unless you're strictly talking about the heated leather seats and/or the automatic climate control. AWD is an option but only available with the V6. 5-speed manual transmissions are also an option but only on 4 cylinder models.

Will a V6 ever be mated with a manual trans?

Only in A Mustang. We dont have any FWD manual transmissions that will handle the torque of a V6.

The 2010+ I-4 (2.5L) is available with a manual trans (6-speed I think) and is much better than the old 2.3 5-sp option. I had a 2006 SEL I4 5-speed as a lease and it was a very good car, but I like my Focus I have now better as a DD. It is a lot more fun to drive than the Fusion.

He is talking about the 06-09 cars which are really different than the '10's

All '10's come with a 6 speed. There is a manual 6 speed option for the 2.5 4cyl. The only problem is it doesn't get as good of mileage as the auto (go figure) 29hwy to 31hwy.

You really need to drive all three to get a good feel. Good news is that little dealership in Ann Arbor has all three models in stock :D

whats the torque rating on the v6s? contours had manual v6s why cant they do it now?

Warranty costs from what I've been told. They are worried about too many "I don't know what happened" (will bald front tires or #'s from the drag strip) trans repairs.

It seems with most car companies SE means shitty edition.

Not the case with the Fusion or any Ford for that matter. It would be more along the lines of "standard edition" since they have just the standard equipment (power windows, locks,cd)
