i think a lot of you guys have these or have fam members with them..

what to get option wise or what not to get..

se/sel - different suspensions? heard someone say the ride was way differnet but wouldnt think this would be true.

SE if you are looking to save money, SEL if you are looking to keep it for a while.

What are you thinking 4 or V-6?

SEL I think is AWD. One would think the AWD car is going to ride more stiff. I would lean towards the AWD just to have for the winter. My buddys Mom had a FWD V6 one and it was PISSED the fuck off. If you ripped it from a first gear roll it would chirp into second. I really think there was something done to that thing..like his mom was secretly modding her fusion overnight. Was a nice car.

FYI The 4 cylinder is very loud on the interior. Just get the V6.

Listen here you veritcally over achieving prick, I don't know...just trying to help the guy. :finger::icon_lol: All I know is the V6 ones are fast, and AWD would be a no brainer in Michigan. When I wanted a Fusion I remember on the forums a lot of people were complaining of bad MPG on the AWD models.

So SEL is premium interior/exterior and the AWD is an additional option? Can you get the AWD on the SE models? Learn something new every day. :headscrat

Is the AWD on the Fords' intelligent? If so they will get very comparable mileage compared to a FWD.

I don't think so, Matt might be able to tell you. I thought from the FusionForums the 2008-2009 models were average 16-17MPG city with AWD and around 23-24 highway. Have to factor in the lead foot fudge factor though.

I've got a 2010 sport and couldn't be happier with it. The sport-tuned suspension makes for a great ride and the 3.5L V6 is peppy enough for a DD. I haven't driven an SE/SEL though.

Also, I do about 90% city driving and get about 17-18 mpg with AWD and a heavy foot.

The MPG has improved with the 6 speed auto.

The SEL is the top of the line in Fusion. There is also a Sport model with the 3.5 V-6. The MPG isn't far off the 3.0 V-6 in the SEL

I've had my 2010 SEL Fusion now for a few months. Very happy with this car.

What I experienced first hand:
-The SE didn't drive as nice as the SEL. Steering and suspension felt noticeable different. I was going to get the SE for the price, but after test driving the SEL (same 4 cylinder engine) there was no going back.

-I believe the SEL brings you up to the leather package...although the cloth seats in the SE were not that bad.

-I also got the package where you get the moon roof and 12-speaker radio system. I think it added $10 a month to the lease payment.

-Sync is pretty cool and is above what you would expect for the price of the car.

-Friend picked up the SE V6 and that V6 does move.

-I averaged about 32mpg on my trip to Grand Rapids last week. Combo city/highway is about 27mpg.

Hope that helps.

My mom has a 2010 SE Sport. Its got alot of the sport stuff, cool seats, big wheels, stereo, spoiler etc. but still a 4 cylinder. I really like it, my mom loves it except that it doesnt have auto headlights hahaha

should the ride differ from a SE to a SEL? minus tire/wheel size differences..

Depends on wheel size. The standard SE is a 17" steel wheel with a plastic cover and the standard SEL wheel is a 17" Alum wheel. If you step up to the 18's (don't recommend it) the tire has a shorter sidewall. The SEL will ride a little more sport like, but not much.

I'm sure what your friend was feeling/hearing is the sound deading. The SEL is quieter, so they might have confused that with better ride since there is less road noise :dontknow:
