My mother owns a 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer. It is a 2wd with the inline six engine, with 38,000 miles. Every morning when you start the truck you can hear the air injection pump. It sounds like a small jet engine, and the SES light is on. My father took it to the dealer. They found water inside the pump. Is it common for water to get inside these pumps and for them to fail? The dealer want 700+ dollars to replace the pump and check valve. I think I am better off getting my own parts and replacing them myself. Any thoughts?
