The pads come with 2 clips one for each side but I don't see what they do? One side on the old ones was missing the other side doesn't touch anything. Any ideas ?

Take a pic of the clip. I just did brakes on a friends seebring. The same car really. The clips were the brake wear warning squeeler and not intended to touch anything until the pads wear out. I think there are also 2 slides that the pads sit on at the ends the pads did not sit directly on the knuckle. Hope this helps.

I thought they were squealers but they would have to be down to absolutely nothing before they touch. I found online it says those cars need brakes every 15000 miles this one had 23000 so I will just keep a eye on them. It's my parents car. Thanks for the help and no thanks on trading for the header install....haha

I have 44,000 miles on my 2009, just replaced the pads last weekend, even though they still had alot of life left in them. And im hard on brakes.

and yeah, they are the low pad squeeler. 1 clip on each side.

Well my mom isn't a hard braker or fast driver so why do you think her brakes were gone after 23,000 ?

if the car is parked alot the rotors rust and will take alot of pad the first few stops

Yeah they dont drive much and also they live right by Lake Erie and there is a lot of moisture that collects on their cars so that makes sense. Thanks
