2008 CJ Delivered

No way in hell that car was ever going to be street legal. Everything that makes S-197's street legal was removed to get that car down to 3200#.

I doubt anything was cut out as far as reinforcements, well i at least would figure a 5,000 dollar option or something.

so come on Matt, lets go out on jackson rd and do some wheelies

i wonder why they took the goodyears off already

goodyears didn't hook, they have already changed the cages also. running 10 flat, i doubt its the 425 tune, probably 625 tune because thats at the crank ! and i heard they have made shock changes also to get them to hang the wheels. bob frey expects that they wil go in the 9's before the weekend is over.

goodyears didn't hook,

horse hockey, BFG drag radial cars run 7's with WAY more power than these cars. and the team Z suspension was set up with the Goodyears. it most likely has to do with sponsorship money.

they will go 9's no problem

U are probably right about the sponsor money for the tires, i just heard at the dealership that the goodyears weren't hooking, but sponsorship $ makes more sense.

One of the new Cobra Jets wins Stock at NHRA race in Pomona! :rockwoot:

"One of the highlights of the 2009 Winternationals was the competition debut of the Ford Mustang Cobra Jet package cars, which were designed specifically for NHRA racing. Four of the new Fords debuted in Pomona, all of which were owned by noted collector Brent Hajek. In a scene reminiscent of the debut of the original Cobra Jet Mustangs in 1968 (when Al Joniec captured the Pomona title) former national champion John Calvert wheeled the new A/Stock entry to a final-round victory against Division 6 racer Tom Gaynor, who fouled."
