2006 F150 ISSUES!! Sounds like bent valves.

They got "better" in 2006. I believe that your 2011 will not have any of these problems that the earlier 5.4's had. You definatly want to change your spark plugs though.

Thanks for the info. I checked on the spark plugs and I apparently have the fully threaded ones, not the ones that snap off in the head.

At least they seem to learn from their mistakes?

Actually the head design changed in 2008. The ditched the old plugs and went with standard ones. I know this for a fact because I have the new design motor that is fucking up in my truck. The only issue with the new motors no including mine is the vct system it was never fixed. Either it works fine for 250k miles or just keeps having issues. The only common thing I have read is motorcraft oil filters and 5w-20 mobile 1. change oil ever 3-4k miles.

So I just wanted to bump this back up. My truck has been sitting for almost a year now. Same issue. I start it up runs great with decent power for around 10 minutes. Then it starts shaking and no power. I have not had time to even work on it. Any suggestions on a mechanic to fix it who will have some mercy!! I just want to get this POS back on the road!!

Anyone Know a Ford 5.4 mechanic or Dealer that will not try to rip me to hell to figure this truck out. It has been sitting for ever!

Plugged cat converters? :dontknow:
If you have access to a scan tool that reads sensors in real time, check the downstream o2's and see if they stay steady. If not chances are the cats are plugged. Also if you have a infrared temp gun check temps upstream of the cats and then downstream. It should be hotter downstream.

Edit:
I went back and read the whole thread and looked at the pics.. My theory is by looking at the exhaust manifold it looks like its' been overheated before, probably from a clogged cat. That heat may have done some damage to the VCT parts or even caused the oil to overheat and fail. This is just my theory, being its' a bitch to diagnose stuff over the internet lol
