Finally got around to working on the Fiance's car today. after fixing a few little things here and there (Dont ever take your car to Gordon Chevy for body work)
I dove into the brakes and the check engine light issue..
1st the the brakes:
When coming to a stop it makes a noise almost as if the pads are wore down and the brakes are grinding. how ever i look into it and the pads are plenty left, the rotors look fine.. the LF caliper was a little slow to push in but still moved. So i started it up put in gear and felt the struts for a bad wheel bearing.. there was a lot of noise in the LF strut and very little in the RF.. the right side half shaft (long) seemed like it was bent just a touch.. like barely noticeable (and there's no vibration driving) I found that the noise almost seemed like it was coming from the inner boot on the CV shaft.. shut the car off .. get a small pry bar and the cv is tight. but where it goes into the trans it moves around a bit like the bearing in the diff is bad ?
Now for the MIL:
ever since we got the car back from Gordon Chevy it had a MIL on. we had to take it back for them to fix some of their painting issues and clean all the dust out of it. so they checked it and we got it back with the light off. My fiance picked the car up and didn't ask what it was.. a month or so late it came on.. i scanned it I don't remember the # and i forgot to write it down but it was something about EVAP switch. if i clear the code it will come back in a week or so.
Any Chrysler dealer techs have experience with these cars ?? any common problems anyone knows of ?
