I'm selling my Saab 9-2X Aero (same as Subaru WRX wagon with some styling differences). I need a bigger car.

As for the car, it is in very good shape and is lightly modded. With mods, I'd be looking for $16,000 or $15,500 without. I think you'll find that is cheaper than a comparably equipped WRX.

Color is Desert Silver Metallic (gold-silver color) with the standard cloth interior (there was only one color cloth). The car has a 5 speed manual transmission. It has all the standard stuff:

- Power windows
- Power locks
- Keyless entry
- 6 disc CD changer
- Auto climate control
- 4 yr 50K mile bumper-to-bumper warranty good until April 2009 or 50K miles

Mods are as follows:

- Samco intercooler hoses
- Speed Monkey chimney style heat shield
- Helix catted down pipe
- Catless uppipe (I don't remember the brand but there is no flex pipe)
- Cobb Accessport V1
- 20% tint on rear windows

I've had it to the track twice and didn't beat on it either time as evidenced by my best 60 ft of only 1.9. Having said that, it still ran a best of 13.69 @ 97.7 mph when it was only hitting 14.5 psi of boost. On stage 2 tune, it will hit a solid 16 psi so expect it to be a little quicker if you don't mind ragging on it. :)

I can't seem to find the window sticker that I know I have somewhere but I did find a sales brochure. Here are some things that were standard on the 9-2X Aero that may or may not have been options on the WRX:

- STI steering rack!!!
- Rear roof spoiler
- Leather trimmed steering wheel, shift knob and e-brake lever
- Aluminum sport pedals (clutch, brake, accelerator)
- Automatic climate control
- Cabin air filter
- Electric mirrors
- Premium 6-CD audio system w/ 6 speakers
- Head/torso side airbags

If you'd like to know anything else, post up or send me a PM or email to [email protected].

Yep. For all intents and purposes, it is a WRX wagon. It has different sheet metal forward of the doors, different cloth in the interior and extra sound deadening that the WRX doesn't have to make it more "Saab like".

At the time this car was made (only 2005 - 06), GM wanted an entry level Saab below the 9-3 and they owned 20% of Fuji Heavy Industries (Subaru's parent company; they have since sold their stake in Fuji to Toyota) and 100% of Saab so they contracted Fuji to make the 9-2X. The standard 9-2X is an Impreza wagon and the Aero is a WRX wagon.

In typical GM fashion, they never advertised the car so nobody knew what it was. As a result, Saab sold very few of them and it was killed after only 2 years of production. Even though the Saab MSRP was higher than a comparable WRX, you can buy a used Saab cheaper than a WRX because nobody knows what the hell the Saabaru is! To top it off, you get a longer factory warranty on the Saab.

I hope you enjoyed todays lesson! :)

Definatly a nice car. This is a churched up WRX and less authority figures and civics look at you.

BTW, with your mod list you could easily run stage II.

Nick

Do you remember playing around with a Hugger Orange SS camaro on 8mile? Not sure if this is the same car.....

I had a run in with this exact looking car, and we had a few trys at it, and it didnt lose by as much as Id thought, course my old wrx was stock.

It's running stage 2. It just took me a year of running it before I bothered to check the boost level and see that it was no where near hitting target boost. A simple adjustment of the wastegate and now it does! It's my daily driver, though, so it hasn't been back to the track to see what kind of improvement it made. I can't afford to break it. I have a Camaro that all the breakage repair money goes toward!

Well, I live just off 8 mile in Livonia so it is possible. I'm not much for messing around on the street normally but it's possible you caught me in the right mood! Was this over the summer?

Damn, if only I could sell my truck. Those things are cool! Good luck Scott.
Hurry up and sell your truck, Jim. I'll give you a good deal! :)

Yea it was during some warmer weather I remember. I dont play on the streets much but I had open road with the guy (you?) and it was a nice warm friday or something. It musta been you cause I swore that thing was harder to pull on than my old WRX. Anyway, good luck with the sale! Nice car.

For anybody that may be interested, the price is negotiable.

It coulda been me. This car has been known to surprise people. :) It's fun having a quick car where 99% of people don't know what the hell it is!

If I could afford it I would pick it up. I think those are gangster! good luck with the sale!
