2005 magnum sxt Project runs and drives with a pontiac 400. $ 2,000

I can tell its been hit in the back,the tire well is smushed alittle and color don't match perfect.seemed to have a lot of sand dirt inside mabe flooded? I didn't care about anything I knew what I was going to do to it! lol
 
Damn, if I didn't have all of my extra money tied up in a business I'd be all over this....It would be a good project car for someone.

BUT maybe some details on that Pontiac 400? It should be worth $4-500 in itself running, possibly more if it's pre-smog era.

I put this engine together about 6 years ago when I bought a camaro off someone here with the intention of making a track only toy that would be a test of how fast it would go with a thousand dollar total limit but never moved forward after it was together and broke in the cam,so the motor Sat since then
75 400 .060 =412 cid forged pistons,replaced factory wrist pins with a lighter stronger trends piece to help with the plan of making a nitrous friendly motor.rods and pistons were triple beamed seperate and back together after Mike pressed the new pins in to maintain a 3 gram tolerance witch was what better than the 13 gram difference range when I started.The mains are arp studs rods are clamped with arp also,I debured and actually polished the rods just because,they looked chrome so that added like 100 hp right!The cam is a summit brand 2802,224/234 466/488 114 ls.I think that is a decent option for nos.The heads are late 70s 6x 8 I getto CCed them 98-102 ccs so the compression is low, high 7 to low 8 :1 because I didn't want to blow it apart on the learning curve.Planed to do 200 shot and did all the little things I could to extend the odds it would last more than 1 pass.I cleaned the intake runners and touched the short side a little and gasket matched then toped the heads off with roller tip rockers.Trans is a th350 a generic shift kit and a boss Hogg(summit) nos 22-2800 converter.I have not timed nor adjusted for performance,there's too many other things to worry about before that is a priority,in my eyes yes a shit cam for N/A street driver,but is what it is and should be as fast or even faster than a city bus,beats walkin and sure sounds better than the bus!
 
I assumed in a stripped camaro and 200 shot I wanted a mid 12 sec toy think on a good day motor 250-275 hp +200 nos maybe 350 375 total hp it should have 400+tq realistically.
 
Man I'm trying hard to get my buddy to buy this for a burnout buggy. Maybe also throw some paddles on it and take it to Silver Lake.
