2005 Ford Escape Limited
3.0 liter V6 171,265 miles (give or take a few)
Front Wheel Drive (Not All Wheel Drive)
New Sumitomo front tires (highly rated on TireRack.com)
Alpine stereo with handsfree Bluetooth
24-25 MPG Highway, 21 MPG combined Highway/City
Rigorously maintained by Village Ford in Dearborn
Why is this for sale at this price? Despite giving it the best care over the last 11-12 years it has become victim to the well know issue to plague 2004-2006 Ford Escapes, the top shock mount in the right rear wheel well has rusted.
This can be fixed, again, very common for this model and year, if you are handy you can do it yourself for $700-$1000, if you want to take it somewhere to be fixed it’s $1,500-$2,000. Once this is fixed you have yourself a great daily driver or a winter car.
For me, it’s not worth the time or the money, but for someone else it might be. If not for this problem I see no reason this vehicle could not go for another 3-5 years and 50,000 miles, It just completed a 1000 mile trip to Canada in late August, with no issues.
