if you can get it fixed under warranty why are you selling it? so cheap too? or are you saying that warranty won't cover it?

I'd look into that, MM&FF did a big write up about mods and warranty coverage. Seems like with just an airbox mod, you should be able to get it fixed. My truck was lifted and I broke 6 rearends in it, all under warranty, and all covered, never spent a dime.
 
it was greg tune car has 33000 miles motor has 300 i im going to try to fight it but the dealer said it had cheater slick air filter boost by pass mod i bought it at dealer trhat waty they just replaced motor in august then i got hit ant andfd knee surgrey they are fuking me bad looking for 4x4 pick and cash trade the cheater slick were nittos

The burden is on the dealership to PROVE that the aftermarket part CAUSED the failure.

The dealership tried this with a friend of mine. said the coating on the PCM was scraped off and therefore he had a chip and voided his warranty. I write a letter explaining the Magnuson-Moss Act and to provide documentation that scraped coating on a PCM caused the rear end to break. After about a month of threats FORD finally covered.

The aftermarket part must CAUSE or be the proximate cause of the failure.

If you put a chip in it, and the brakes fail, there is no causal connection.

If you chip it or reflash the PCM and the a/f ratio or timing screws up and ventilates the block, well you are going to have a harder time. But it could still be caused by part failure (defective rod). It is up to the manufacturer to PROVE that part caused the failure.

you cannot void the entire warranty either. They may be able to void a portion of the warranty.


Just thought of this. I'd sue them for tresspass to chattles. (basically they lowered the value of the personal property by voiding the warranty)
 
ford issued a letter to all 03 and up cobra owners that "race" tires will viod the vehicle warranty, a cold air intake unless a emissions legal part, can beconsidered a race only or for off road useage only and void the warranty of the vehicle as it has been raced or prepped for racing
