Year/Make/Model: 2002 Chevrolet Camaro
Location: Livonia, MI
Price: $13,000 obo
Mileage: just over 22,000
-------------
I'm selling my Camaro. I've threatened to do it for the last couple of years and haven't but now it's time to do it for real. With two young kids I have almost no opportunity to drive it and have quite frankly lost interest.
It is an M6 hardtop stripper. The only options were GSC tires and rear defrost. Maroon with black cloth interior. I am the original owner and I ordered it.
Here's the mod list:
Holley powershot air filter
SLP lid
Fast Toys ram air
Jantzer ported throttle body
Hooker long tube headers ceramic coated black
Chromoly push rods (have receipt - was prepping for cam install that never happened.)
Tuned locally (not dyno tune)
SLP dual/dual exhaust
Liberty built trans (steel fork, bronze pads, billet keys) (have receipt)
Ram powergrip clutch/pressure plate (have receipt)
Ram adjustable master cylinder
B&M Ripper shifter
Harlan shift light - red
Moser 12 bolt w/ 3.73 gear & TruTrac built by Driveline Solutions (have receipt)
Heavy duty mild steel driveshaft w/ 1350 U-joints (have receipt)
SLP line lock
UMI 3 point bolt-in subframe connectors
Lakewood lower control arms
Lakewood adjustable panhard bar
The good:
Under 23k miles. Most of the big mods done after 15k miles.
It has never been more modded than it is today (ie never sprayed, FI, etc.)
Rare color combo (Monterey Maroon w/ ebony cloth)
Exterior very clean
Super clean interior
Pretty clean underneath, too!
Stored winters. Never seen snow. Only driven in the rain a few times when it rolled in unexpectedly.
The bad:
- Quarter size spot of clear coat missing from front fascia
- Some small bubbles in clear on roof panel (common problem)
- It throws a "Misfire cylinder 7" code in one very specific circumstance only: in 6th gear on the expressway. I've never been able to find anything wrong with the car. Drive in 5th gear and no code. There is never any loss of power or any indication anything is actually wrong (no audible knock, bucking, etc.). The car runs quite strong. A couple of years ago (It's been doing it a few years) I swapped out the plug and swapped around the plug wire, coil pack and injector and nothing changed. I've never done a compression check because I don't think anything is wrong but I could do it before anybody from out of town came and also while they are here so they can see it themself. As is evidence from the low miles, I rarely drive it on the interstate and it doesn't do it unless you are in 6th gear so I don't see it often.
The trans was redone because I bent the shift fork and it eventually took out the third gear synchro. I had the new clutch put in at the same time. That work was done at Stenod performance (trans rebuilt by Liberty Gears) and the rear was by Driveline Solutions. The rest of the work was done by me.
I put around 10k miles on the car between March 2002 and November 2002 so it has only had 13k miles put on it since Nov. 2002.
Looking to get $13,000 obo as it sits I have no interest in trades or de-modding the car. The new buyer can do that to recoup some of their money if they want. I have many of the stock parts.
