2002 Saturn SL2 Repairable - Gas Sipper!

I have a 2002 Saturn SL2 for sale. This car belonged to a friend's parents. They used to pull this car behind their RV. It still has the tow bar hook up on the front of the car. I got this car for my 16 year old son to fix and give to him as his first car. I was told it needed an engine. I never got that far to figure out what was wrong if anything. It started and drove home and I haven't really done anything since. My son didn't show any interest in it and especially not in helping to fix it.

The body and interior are in great shape. The car does start and drive. I was told it got around 30 MPG. The odometer shows around 150,000 or so which is a combination of actual driving miles and tow miles (the odometer added miles as they pulled it with their RV). I will need to check and update this listing. I have $500 into it. That is what I am looking to get out of it. Send me a PM if you are interested or want more information.

I bought the car a few months ago to fix with my son. He was always too busy texting and playing video games to even bother help to diagnose it. I am not sure if it is burning oil or knocking or what it is doing. That was what the shop told the people we bought it from. I drove it home from the repair shop the previous owner took it to for repair. It seemed okay but I only drove a mile and never got over 25.
