i'm going to replace both on my stang and the sites suggest getting a special tool from autozone but i'm wondering if i turn the steering wheel lets say to the right, will it move out of the rack far enough to put a wrench on it instead of using the tool?

i dont think it will move far enough. might as well do the loan a tool program its free and youll have it if you need it.

imight as well since i have to buy the parts anyway.just trying to save a trip taking it back !!! thanks!!

N O P E !.....You should be able to borrow the tool from AutoZone or purchace one from Harbor Freight.

just barrow it. unless you plan on doing a bunch of inner tie rods. I own the tool and would loan it but im in NC. i have seen ppl use a giant wrench to do the job tho. it mainly depends on the style of rack.
