2001 audi TT issues

ok so we got this car.

had the timing belt done and the cat removed. The only engine code is 02 sensor1 bank 1. Ran fine after the belt and cat was done a few thousand miles ago.

car idles fine but when you go to get in the gas it sputters and cuts out like its got a bad coil pack it seems then all of a sudden it will take off like nothings wrong.


my scanner wont hook up to euro cars.

anyone have any ideas that played with audis?

has 107k miles.
 
Not familiar with Audi but I have seen some timing belts replaced and the tensioners (if they are oil pressure activated) not return to full tension once the belt stretches during its break-in period. Its possible that it jumped a tooth but not too likely. The TTs have the 5 valve head IIRC so Id assume that there isn't much room for piston to valve clearance.

you said it has an 02 sensor 1 bank 1 issue. I would start looking into that, see if you can data stream the short and long term fuel trims. Maybe its dumping fuel at low RPM and clearing up at higher RPM.

I think you are going to have an issue accurately troubleshooting the car without a scanner and pop-n-swap parts on an Audi get $$$$ really fast.

Oh yea, we arnt doing no pop and swap....i dont ever do that. haha

yea the scanner is critical i think too.

anyone here do Audi's or have a scanner that will? my solus isent set up for European. i can trailer the car to whoever and will pay a fee to borrow said scanner at their house or business.
