2 step rev limiter wiring question

Specifically on a 95 Z28. I put a test light on the clutch position switch and neither one is only hot when the clutch is pressed. Where could I find a wire that will be hot when it's pressed down?

if one isnt hot when pressed, one will be ground, use that, if you absolutely have to have 12v, use the ground to trigger a relay

which switch did you check?
there are two.
need to use the one at the bottom of travel. also used to start the car

probably have to use a relay with that since the msd needs 12v. unlike the lingenfelter that can use 12v or ground

Someone has something disconnected/bypassed because I can start the car without it pressed, also the skip shift doesn't work so I was wondering if that could be related.
