Well, I finally bought a Subie to replace my super reliable truck, so "Mean Green" is going up for sale.

It is a 1999 Ford Ranger XLT w/ 117800ish miles on it. The truck is a 4cyl 2.5L, 2wd, and an auto. It has manual windows and locks. Sliding rear window, CD player, window vents (paint matched), fiberglass toneau (paint matched), brand new Firestone Winterforce tires (1500 miles?), new KYB shocks with lifetime warranty (have to find receipt), newer power steering pump and alternator, new spark plug wires, new rear u-joint (lifetime warranty), new drivers side upper and lower ball joints, new air filter, and I'm not sure if there is anything else, but this will work for now. If you have any other questions let me know.

There is really nothing that needs to be done with the truck. It is turn-key, ready to go. The only thing I could see you wanting to fix right away would be the drivers side window. It goes up and down just fine, but when you are rolling it up to the top, the handle will start turn and click without moving the window up anymore. I think it is slightly off the turning mechanism inside the door, or the plastic handle is slightly stripped on the inside, but, I haven't felt like taking the door panel off to look because it still goes up and down just fine...you just need to push on the window when it gets to the top to seal it 100%.

Truck is 11 years old. Mechanically, it is VERY sound. I would drive this truck anywhere without hesitation. It does decent on gas for being an auto. The engine is a 2.5L 4 cylinder with the 8-spark (has 8 spark plugs...was supposed to help improve combustion or something like that).

Cosmetically, there are dents and dings. The clear coat on the hood is peeling, and there is one spot of penetrating rust on the tail gate. It stays on just fine, but you could easily replace the tailgate and hood for cheap if it bothered you. The only other rust I've seen is on the very bottom of the doors, and that is just surface rust from what I can see.

If you have any questions, just ask me. KBB for my truck in FAIR condition with the accessories I could list was $2985. I feel this is the condition of the truck cosmetically, but def not mechanically. My asking price is over $700 below KBB Fair at $2200. It will not let you down, and maintenance/parts are very cheap. Low ballers will be ignored. I don't HAVE to sell this truck, just don't need it anymore.

Also, it just had an oil change at 117000 miles and was changed with Motorcraft High-milage 10w30.

Again, any questions, just ask. Truck is great, and I will def miss it.

(please note, none of the dents or dings were caused by me...they were all on the truck when I got it over 3 years ago)

Thanks,

looks like a decent truck for the price.

Will it tow an open snowmobile trailer with 2 snowmobiles? Or is that too much weight?

I pretty confident that this truck would be able to tow the setup, but honestly, I'm not 100%. I'm searching right now to see if I can confirm.

I know the engine puts out 119bhp and 146ftlb. Not sure what the tongue weight of the trailer would be, but I think that bumper hitches are limited to 500lbs...so you might have to buy a hide-a-hitch? I'm not sure what sleds you have, but I think they're generally around 500lbs wet (older sleds prob weight a little more)?

It does have a tow button to turn O/D on/off so it's not downshifting in hills and what not.

FYI, that truck will NOT tow 6000

Two sleds and a trailer is way pushing it for that truck. I'd tow them across town, but not up North. The 2.5 is a great little engine, but it's not meant two much of anything.

Ya, I was just quoting what it said on the MSN site. I would assume that the 6000#'s max is for trucks equipped with the 4.0. I'm not sure what the trailer weighs, but I couldn't see your setup weighing much over 2000#'s, which I think would still be within it's ability.

I'd be willing to let hook up your setup to see how it felt if you were seriously interested.
