2000 ford ranger pickup 4x4 stepside $1250 bad trans?

I have this 2000 Ford Ranger Pickup sitting here. It was my friends sons car. It has 219246 on the clock and is a bit rusty around the edges. This is an extended cab pickup with all power options. It could use a good cleaning but other then the rust appears solid. It seems to drive ok but it will not engage reverse. I read online this maybe an easy fix something about reverse bands? It starts great and is a 4.0l. If you have any questions let me know.

If its still available saturday I would be very interested. Just wont have the time to make it out there untill saturday. Ill PM you friday night and see if we can set something up if the trucks still available.
