SOLD!

I bought this a couple of months ago for $1500. I have it listed on CL for $2,000 obo. For MM'ers, the price is $1700. (I have replaced the waterpump and serpentine belt)

1997 Jeep Cherokee Sport
180,000 miles
4.0 Inline 6
4x4
Automatic

The good:
4x4 works great... 4HI, 4LOW, etc. No problems at all
No leaks
Runs great, drives smooth and quiet
Tires are pretty good (over 50% with an easy 40k left in them)
Newer alternator
Brand new waterpump
Brand new serpentine belt
Heat works great
Seats and cargo area are very clean

The bad:
Rockers are rusty
A/C doesn't blow very cold
Front carpet is dirty
Typical XJ rust hole above the windshield (doesn't leak)

For an extra $175 I will include three nearly mint, rust free doors to swap if you want:

I'm just looking for a slightly nicer XJ for my daily driving.

How is it on gas? Also how's the suspension (i.e. ball joints, tierods, shocks)? I know you said it rides smooth and quiet but how does it do on the highway?

I'm interested in it, I might be needed this depending on if I can get my current clunker fixed (probably won't), will know by the end of the weekend.

It does ride and drive smooth. The suspension is stock and it's a bit on the loose side. There is play in the steering, but I suppose that's to be expected on a bone stock 180k mile vehicle. I would suspect that everything underneath is original.

As long as it's not falling apart that's all I care . My car is cranking over (before it sounded like it seized up). I'll probably let you know by the end of the day if mine is worth fixing or not.

My car is toast. Now the only issue is the finances. I'll know probably on monday but if you get an offer in the meantime don't hesitate to sell.

FYI: I started doing some work on it. I pulled off the old faded side "Sport" moldings and the fender flares. I repainted the flares black with fender/trim paint. They are drying right now. Going to reinstall the flares, but not the door moldings. It looks better without them. I also sprayed black bedliner on the bottom half of the driver's side doors. It's in the garage drying now. I was planning on doing the passenger side today, but well... rain....
