1996 Ranger Ques.

I have a 96 4.0 Ranger that has a slight stumble between 1,500-2,000 rpm under load - part throttle. I've cleaned the MAF, replaced plugs, wires and the fuel filter. Next will be the coil. Any other ideas of what could be causing the continous stumble?

Thanks

I thought about that, but the old plugs seemed to be burning fine (no shortage of fuel). Also, under WOT the truck runs fine...

Oh yeah, I also changed an 02 because of the code. The only code it's currenlty showing is the the EVAP Purge Valve on canister.

That could be a bad gas cap. I've seen it happen a few times. I don't suggest we keep guessing, you should really have it scanned by someone with a good scanner that reads the sensor values.

Get the DPFE sensor values and post them up. Also the Baro pressure in both hz and hg would be useful. If i had to take a wild ass stab though based on the issue you describe sounds like a bad DPFE.

Where can I go where they have a "good" scanner? Do you guys have one Sean? If so, PM me what it costs to get it checked....

Put in a new DPFE and no dice...any additional ideas? Does it sound like it could be a bad coil pack?
