its a 4.6 we replaced a head because it poped a timing chain and smacked valves ran good for a week then quit again the timing chain is still there and it dosent look like it skipped a tooth. We replace cam position sensor and know it runs kinda, then we put a mass air sensor because it was throwing that code and an o2 sensor code the car was sitting for a year now were scrambling to get it done because my little sister just got her licenses. any advice or tips would be great im very stumped with this stupid 4.6 thanks

new symptom both cats were cherry red after we got it to run for five minuetsim thinking clogged cats?? maybe its just running that fat i really dont know

if BOTH cats are cherry its prob not the cats.. i only have seen one car have multiple clogged cats that caused it to not run at all.

im thinking your fuel trim is incorrect.. are there anymore DTC's? or is the MIL illuminated?

im gona straight pipe it this weekend but a shop is trying to tell us that an injector is stuck wide open ive delt with efi before but this 4.6 is such a hard motor to deal with

It would be cheaper to just unbolted and gut the cats unless you plan on selling them. From the symptoms you described I wouldn't think its an injector. I would go through all of the plugs and see how they look just to be sure. If there is a stuck injector the plugs will tell you

dont mess with the cats, you most likely have a fuel problem. If you dont have a scanner, borrow one and single out problems and borrow/get a part to isolate the problem. If you have an injector problem get some from parts galore. They dont go bad very often in my experience. The car will run very hot if the timing is off also. Is the cam sensor adjustable?

cam sensor is solid mounted and is brand new i was thinking that was the issue aswell the plugs are wierd the driverside wich is the side we replaced the head on the plugs all look good like they have been ran but the passenger side the plugs are wet and look new and but the timing is spot on and the car itself isnt heating up just the cats and i was planning on selling them is there a way to test injectors? besides those little light test??
