Have you ever wanted a car that gets you laid every time you take it out? Well, this car isn't it but if you did have a car like that and now have a bunch of rug-rats running around this may be the car for you! Up for sale is my parents 1993 Chevy Caprice 8 passenger wagon. My father purchased this car back in 1998. They used it to go up north in every Summer while towing their pop-up camper behind them. My mother could drive this car in case of an emergency (she's handicapped and it is easy to get in/out of) so it was always well maintained. Most of the work done over the years was performed by Jakes Automotive in Troy. My mother can no longer drive (parents in their late 70's) and unfortunately sold their camper as well so now this car is of no use to them. Here is the good and the bad:
Good:
-5.7 Liter (350) motor. Does not use any oil/coolant/etc. runs perfect. No funny noises. Even the air pump works.
- Runs/drives like new. You would NOT be disappointed in the way it runs/drives. 143,000 miles
-Tight suspension. Extremely comfortable to drive
- Always well maintained. They needed to keep it reliable at all times in case my mother needed to drive it somewhere.
- Transmission works flawlessly and is a 4-sp overdrive
-Quiet and comfortable. slight wear on the drivers seat right at the side but is minor.
-Rear door works great in both directions.
-seating in the rear along with plenty of storage with both rear seats down
-A/C works.
_non smokers
_This car gets around 20+mpg on the highway! Not sure about the around town mileage. It was mostly used for trips.
-Tires have a ton of tread left.
-Spare/jack present and in great shape.
-solid underside, car was rustproofed from the factory. Everything is solid but the rear quarters on the bottom. The rustproofer must have forgot those lol.
-I have all the service records
Bad:
-Paint is delaminating on all the horizontal surfaces. Typical for these cars especially this age.
-I noticed today that there is a leak comong from the power steering pump or the hose that attaches to it in the back. I'm not sure which as I just got the car from them to sell and it wasn't noticed before. The steering is quiet and the pump works flawlessly so it may just be the pressure or return line. I just don't have time to fix it.
-Rust on lower quarters in front and behind tires. Surprisingly, this is the only rust on the car. The hood, door bottoms and trunk are solid as a rock.
-Drivers rear window non-op. Don't know why but my dad put a piece of tape over that switch on the door.
-Power door locks don't work off the switches. But, when you start the car or turn it off the doors do automatically lock/unlock.
-There is no wiper blade on the rear window. Not sure if it works or not.
I have driven this car many times. As my parents were getting older I would drive to Ludington every year and set-up the camper with my father for them. The car honestly is very nice to drive and for the money you would not be disappointed. Feel free to contact me through here or by phone if you are interest.

The car is located in Saline, on the North end. Easy to find off I-94 just west of US23
NOTE: If you are seriously interested please be advised that when the car is purchased we have to go to the Secretary of State together to transfer the title. It is a clear title, ready to go. However, my parents are very old school and they have this belief if you run over a group of small children on the way home or decide to rob a bank with the car they would be held liable until the title is transferred. Please understand they are old and it's just as much a inconvenience to me but I promised them I would. Also, this is a cash only sale. Not monopoly money, two-party out of state welfare checks, certified checks for thousands more than the asking price etc...You get the idea.
Attached is a link to many pictures of the car.
