A friend is having problems with the shifter it will not shift i the upper gears 1-3-5 and the lower gears work fine. Any ideas ?? the linkage looks like its working correctly.

This probably is not the case but, I know its a problem with 08+Civic Si owners. They will put a short throw shifter in, not knowing the car has one already, and it makes the shifter 100% wrong. They will not go into the high gears either.
