1988 Mustang LX Highly Modified Street Machine

damn, this is a painful thread to read......on one hand, it looks like a helluva nice car with some tasteful and $$$ mods. on the flip, the market will only bear so much. i can only wish the seller good luck on the sale, and say that before i'd take a financial beating, i'd consider keeping a car that nice and just rockin' the shit out of it...........;)

This is what I was thinking.

Interesting For Sale thread. $11k price drop in a matter of hours! One more day and I'll take it for free!

hate to say it but it needs to come down about another 6k at least i'd say. not trying to be to negative its a nice car but i think 9k would be pushing it.

Correct me if I'm wrong but a B50 Sportsman block is not much better than a stock 302 block? How much HP can they handle?

this sucks i struggle with the same thing, its just a mustang,if it was a 69 camaro or somthing along those lines 26 no problem.i have a shit ton of money in a mustang that on a good day will only bring 8or 9 thousand, and it goes 9s.
so keep it and beat your investment out of it,or good luck with the sale nice ride.

I made just over 600 hp with my 347 inch B50 based engine leaving at 7000+ rpm and shifting at 7500....went thru the traps at 7800.

Yeah those sportsman blocks are a waste of money. Guy I know had one 347 with a vortech making 500ish and split it. I would go with Dart

I will take it.

All you have to do is send me your email, home address and your checking account # so I can transfer the funds.

If you are not comfortable with that. I can just send you a check for $30K for your troubles and you can deposit it and I will send a courier to pick up the car. I reside in the Netherlands so please let me know right away as I must have this car.

hahahaha..

As a frame of reference, my buddy recently sold a '90 GT with all factory '93 Cobra body parts & rear spoiler, a built 302 with an S-trim (438hp/450lbft), brand new T-56 and clutch, mint body and paint (completely repainted, fiberglass hood), 70k miles, open track suspension, Cobra brakes, Cobra Rs with fresh rubber and mint interior with gauges, Cobra Daytona seats, Momo wheel and 10 point cage for $15k. He had over $30k invested.

You appear to have a very nice car, but I fear your price may still be too ambitious at $15k. GLWS.

I Know Matt (the seller) I went to Highschool with him. I can vouch that the car is pretty damn clean. The market for a 20+ year old car just isnt there. My friend bought a backhalfed, 347 blower/spray fox, 19k miles, 12 pt, etc etc over 50k in recipts and he bought it for 19,000.

Maybe get it appraised? That way a buyer has reference to take to the bank to show them what its worth? Either way its a clean car but theres a lot of cars out there for cheap right now.
