1988 ford ranger wont start

ok heres the deal i have a 1988 ranger converted to a 351w it had a 2.9L in it it ran then two wire's arked under the dash now it wont start and i tryed rewireing and it still won't start it turns over but wont start the fuel pump works its getting gas the coil and distributer are getting power but theres no spark ???? could the wires arking cause the computer to get fried? plz any one help me out

everything is stock thank you guys for the help i got a hold of a computer out of a mustang matching numbers pluged right in and it started right up thanks agin guys:thumbsup:
