1979 Foxbody Hatch project

Ok well after years of not having a car I finaly got a project again...here she is a 1979 Hatch got her as a roller on easter sunday been doing body work and getting her primed since...she is about ready for paint ryan...lol

Maybe I don't know much about roll cages but can someone answer me why there is a "halo" bar on the passenger side? Maybe this is an Australian cage or something where they need passenger's safety as well? Just seems like if you were to cruise this at some point a potential passenger's head would be susceptible to serious injury?

yeah i was curiuos myself previous owner did not do the cage so no answer there....anyone have a idea ?
 
Any more picture's of the cage posted ?? Sometime's it's just more for look's if was going to be a show/race car.
Are they full funny car cage's in the car ?

I will get some pics soon as I get ready to move her to the paint guy... Some people said maybe was a car to train people to have a instructor as passenger .. I dunno it does have a parachute set up as well

I only asked because some Australian motorsports DO have passengers when they race.. never seen that here in the states
Maybe it was set up to train people how to race I never thought of that
..
Or maybe it was done aesthetically it certainly has no structural benefits.

either way it looks uniform so i like it......finaly she goes out for paint next week!!!!!
