1970 Ford Torino

Did you get the floor pans off of ebay? I'm going to have to do the pans in my car too and was just wondering if they fit good.

So I ordered a lower Radiator hose for the torino as the one on the car is a universal then attached to another hose. Major cobble job. Well after doing a minute of research I have come to the conclusion that I have the wrong water pump on the car.

I should have a drivers outlet water pump but instead have a pass side outlet, WTF? hmm, thinking I should drop the starter and inspect the block id number. 69 5.0's were a pass outlet, when I had my intake off I found 69' date codes on the heads. Thinking I may have a 69 or older motor possibly.

Figured I better start with the easy panel first.

Mount the seats, which will require some fab since I am missing some brackets to the floor. Then mount my B&M shifter. Then tear them all back out, clean 100% of the floor, then seal it and order my floor insulation and carpet.

Looking through the glove box in the torino, it still had the owners manual in it, along with receipts from a muffler shop in Athens, TN for susp work in 2002. Mileage was the same that day as what it says today. Crawled under and the speedo cable was broken at the trans. Guess it has more then the 108K the odometer states.

Used eastwoods seam sealer on the seams and Painted the floor with Eastwood Rust Encapsulator. Having used both the eastwood stuff and por-15, por-15 seems like a better product. The eastwood stuff sseemed pretty thin while por was a bit thicker and more like syrup then water like eastwood. Hoping to do the trunk tomorrow.

But fyi, its cheaper to buy both products from ebay they from the actual company's website. Even buying it from the company through ebay is cheaper and you can get free shipping lol. I bought all the stuff about $40 cheaper overall through Jegs on ebay.

Well got the right water pump on it so it is on the right side of the motor for the rad. hose.

Also got the disc swap done..

Drove it a little bit, I def. need shocks and need to hook up the vacumn to the trans, really didnt wanna up shift. Wont power brake, but will burn 1 tire from a stop. Kinda surprised with the 2.73 gears. Soon to be 3.73 or 4.10 L/S 8.8. But i do still need to play the ign. timing.

Selling my car..

70 302 auto

Tons of new stuff..

Lower control arms
Sway bar links
upper ball joints
Upper control arm shafts
All shocks
New front brake hoses and calipers
radiator hoses,spark plugs
fluids serviced (all engine and trans)
new rims and tires
new headliner prof installed
new package tray
new carpet
new b&m shifter
new rear window gasket
new flopro mufflers
3 new sections of floor boards
entire floor and trunk floor painted in Eastwood rust encapsultor

Probably driven the car 400 miles in the last 3 weeks with no issues. Frame looks good, torque boxs look good. Doors are fair, inside of trunk lid (lid itself) poor, cant tell from outside but underside rough. Sm area around battery tray needs sm repair. And weatherstripping on doors and rear side windows poor.

$4500 located in Middleville or just south of Grand Rapids MI. Pretty firm on price. Would consider trade for nicer goose neck car hauler or wedge (2 place).
