No title, VIN is clean - $900

Starts (kick), runs, shifts and rides fine. Tires are 1 year old with less than 200 miles on them.

Pics make it look a little better than it really is. The tank has a couple of nicks and those have little surface rust. Exhaust is clean and practically rust free, but missing the heat shield. Left side carb overfills with fuel and leaks a bit. Side covers are faded. Overall, a very solid bike with cool café potential. Starter button doesn't work, but I kick it or bump it just fine. (NOTE: It's winter, it's cold, it may take a bit of work to get it started right now... warm weather, it starts on the first or second kick)

Picked up in Milan MI during the day or any time on Sundays

I bought it at a garage sale down the street from me. The guy said he had the title, but had to find it. The plate is just an old one that I had laying around. The garage sale guy finally got back to me after I stopped at his house a few times of the past several months and said he was mistaken, he doesn't have the title... I went to the sheriffs office and they said that it does not come back stolen, but they wouldn't tell me anything other than that.

There is a process for getting a title, if you buy a bike without one... See here, section 3:

I can do that, but the price will go up. I'm offering this at a discount because I rarely have any free time (Daddy daycare from 7am-4pm, work from 4:30pm-1am)....

Going to SoS tomorrow for the title. Price will increase to $1200. It will also be going on eBay

Here is a '72 on eBay that is already up to $600 and will go up quite a bit from there. It's in a little bit better shape with less miles, but not nearly as rare as the '69

Note: 1969 was the first year and much more rare. It is more desirable because of the high "scrambler/dirtbike" style front fender and the cooler tank. Watch that auction for an idea of the value...

Well, I went to SoS for the title... they had to verify that it's not stolen and ran it through their database. They said it can take 15min to 3 hours. I waited 1 hour, had to go to work. I called on the way to work and they said "It's clean, you can go back." However, I had to go to work and the "clearance" is only valid for 24 hours. I won't be able to get to SoS tomorrow, because my wife has to work.... so, I have to go through this all over again whenever my wife has another day off of work (next Friday, probably).

So, the $900 price still stands until next Friday, if anybody is interested.

PS. I f*cking hate SoS
