1967 Fairlane Resto-mod

I supposed I should start a build thread for my new project car. I picked up a 67 Fairlane cheap with LOADS of spare parts and panels to go with it. It's currently a 302/C4 that will be yanked out shortly with an 8" rear end that will also be pulled for the 9" that came with it. The engine will be an E85 Cleveland headed 408w with a decent street/strip cam (~.550-575") and forged internals in case I get bored with the N/A power and want to add boost or NO2. I'm still mulling over the trans option. It will either be a build AOD or a 6-speed manual of some sort. Details will come as I collect parts and make progress. I can't load pics right now (shitty work computers) but I'll throw up some as it sits when I get home.

Disclaimer: I will be asking LOADS of questions (most likely in the incorrect forum) about this project as I really don't know what the hell I'm doing. :seizure:

Well, picture uploads don't seem to be working, but when they do, there will be some here. image.jpg
Got one.

I have some spare parts from my 1969 Mustang. If you need any oddball parts, I am pretty sure most of them will interchange due to similar platforms.

Really cool project, please keep the progress pics coming. I have two restomod cars going together (slowly) and have done some research on retrofitting the newer stuff.

Those cars are cool. I would go the 6-speed route personally unless it's going to be purpose built race car. I had an auto in my challenger for years and finally (at the request of my 77 year old father) put a 5-speed in it. We both agree the fun factor increased 10-fold. Keep us posted on the build Ritch.

I'm getting engine pieces together. Going to need an expensive trip to the machine shop but it'll be worth it when I hit the key. I still can't post pics, unfortunately, but I have a 69 Windsor block, an eagle 4" stroke crank with Cleveland mains, and quench chamber four barrel Cleveland heads that I'll be porting after they get machined.

No need to port them babies. I am pretty sure they will flow enough just as they are. I've had a few Clevelands...

Just my .02....grr
