1959 Impala vs 2009 Malibu

I've watched it a few times now. No way is there an engine in that '59. I can't tell if there is one in the '09.

Either way, that is a bad example.

Maybe u can do some screen shots, but i see the door is affected and the windshield, but you cant see how much leg room you lose. And the fact taht the windshield pops out just makes it look worse than it is...

I want to see a view of the inside....right now, both cars looked completely F'd from the outside.
 
Glad to see I'm safe in my lease I got fucked on. That's always good to know. Now how am I gonna total the damn thing so I can get paid. :)

what makes you so sure of that? lots of open space under that bonnet, especially if its got an inline sixxer in it.

Just the way it looks after the impact from the different views. The bumper almost looks || to the firewall but wayyyy to close if there was any type of engine.

I leased a 2008 Malibu. I'm not upset with the monthly payments or anything. But the 2009 model came with a 6spd auto compared to 4 speed. The actual price dropped and leasing incentives went up. Then C4C came out, which my car I replaced with this would have been a perfect canadate. I could of ended up with a much nicer model (v6, paddle shifters, leather) for around the same monthly payment BUYING it. GM also lowered their qualifying credit score to a 620 FICO score, it used to be 680. Which would of ment a better interest rate for me. :buds:

Let's say I would of been much more happy to wait a year for the 2009 model with cash 4 clunkers incentive. Either way, you live and you learn I guess. :headscrat Personally, I would of MUCH rather had a G8 if I knew they would be the same price after a year.

Yeah but unfortunately there's no way of predicting the future. If everybody waited for the perfect car for the perfect price with the perfect C4C deal to come along nobody would be buying new cars.

Yeah I know, it just sucks you know? No one likes to miss out on a killer deal. Take the housing market right now. I am thankful I didn't get into a house a few years ago and I'm excited for this spring when we will be purchasing. Can't beat 2500 sqft on a little land for $90,000. :thumbsup: There was one I went to jump on in New Boston but it sold after 1 day of being on the market. Beautiful house for $97,000. LAST october the previous owner paid $465,000 for that house. So I guess at the end of the day atleast I'm not that guy. :lol:
 
Wow, crazy video! That kind of safety comes at a cost, not only in dollars but also vehicle weight. That could explain why a car like the 2010 Mustang seams so heavy compared to some previous generations. It also get 5 star ratings in all 5 categories of crash testing. Technology.

agreed. safety is what kills the new camaro for me. Ive ridden in one and it was incredible, but its just not "me." The 426 hp overcomes the weight very well, but you still feel it. Imagine the 1/4 times and mileage you could get out of one that weighed 500 or more pounds less. The weight issue is what has drawn my attention towards the [typically lighter] mustang. We also got stuck with a post-coupe just so they could achieve the better rating with side-curtain airbags. No t-tops is one thing but they couldn't even give us roll-down rear windows like the concept had. that pillar drives me nuts. to me the only camaro with a back seat that doesn't seem like a dog-kennel is a first gen.

I get on this topic so much im sure i sound like a broken record. I just wonder how far this is going to go before people actually can no longer afford the cars and their safety engineering. Like i said before average age is already in the 40s... and that was with people buying on credit. The whole issue is that engineers are forced to put a value on human life, i guess i cant see it increasing forever.
