1955 Chevy straight axle gasser

i got the back of the 55 all welded up and trunk gaps set, just need to lead the weld seams in and now i will cut the frame off at the fire wall and build the straight frame rails and set the front axle.

i started on the front frame rails, i used a 3/16 plate to cap the end of the frame then welded the 2x4 box tubing to that, then fabbed the 1/8 plates to make the transition look smooth.

That's going to look great with the mini tubs. Will you have a tilt front clip, or leave it stock?
I ask because a guy down the street put in a straight axle & tilt front end on his '67 Skylark and it looks & sounds good when he drives by.

i wanted a fiberglass tilt front end, but after doing alot of research no one make a one piece front end thats worth a dam! but i might make the steel front clip flip??

Yes, the car is being built around there rules, also planning on doing the Hot Rod Magizine drag week with it.

Thats awesome. He drives his to work on occasion. I went to a couple of their events and it looks like a good time.

This is gonna be an awesome build. Keep up the good work.
