Isn't it kind of presumptuous to call her a whore because she "might" have sex before marriage? :dontknow:

Not really, if he is concerned about the age of consent for a potential 17 yr old GF than he is making the assumption that she will in fact sleep with him. He isn't even dating the girl yet which leads me to believe that if they in fact start dating he believes that they will sleep together. At the age of 17 if you are considering sleeping with someone that you haven't even started dating I would consider that to be a promiscuous tendency if in fact they do sleep together than they would be promiscuous. One of the definaitions of Whore :

A person considered sexually promiscuous.

So in fact No I don't think it's presumptuous.

She may be a very nice girl and not a whore at all, but he must believe she is if he's worried about consent.


Don't get me wrong I love whores, life would be boring without them, but not for kids.


BTW 16 is the age of consent in MI, it's not right but it is legal.

I never called her a whore I just stated that he must think she is.:lick:

You only ask about consent for one reason and it's not to hold hands or Kiss as stated above.

I think we are on the same page here, my statement implied that it was presumptuous for him to think she would sleep with him before they are even dating hence her being a whore.

Until you are at a certain level of maturity, supporting yourself and are responsible for your own actions you are a kid, I've known some 17 yr olds that were more of an adult than some 25 yr olds. Just because they are exposed to something doesn't mean they are able to handle it.

I agree kids need to be prepared for what they will encounter out there but just because as a parent you acknowledge these things exist doesn't mean you condone them.

Now that I have a daughter I guess it's time to start figuring out how I will prepare her to deal with the struggles she will encounter and give her the support to make the right decisions.

My problem is if she takes after my wife we'll have nothing to worry about if she takes after me we'll think we have nothing to worry about:eek5:
