sad that a whole engine generation, variable valve timing and 26 horse and it still just barely hangs with the 2005 GTOs

showroom stock 3800lbs and quarter mile at almost 111 mph; thats impressive. yeah the 0-60 and quarter mile time wrnt that great but 111mph trap should put it mid 12's easy with a good 60 ft time.

So the Camaro weighs more than the Mustang and is still a little bit quicker and that is a bad thing? :D

can you say WHEEL HOP.....that the only reason the ET was lower with that MPH....you have to launch this car like a granny...that car is easily capable of a high 12

It dosent look like they were using an acutual timing system. They were using something like a gtech. Your trap speed is averaged over the last 60 ft of the run, so the ACTUAL trap speed would be closer to 109 IMHO. Still impressive for a tank. I smell 12s, and I have to admit, with the weight of these cars, i didnt think it could do it. Now....................I wonder what this RATED 422 hp motor ACTUALLY makes to the wheels. Eric L

~370rwhp. Rick just posted up a Livernois dyno vid a day or two ago. I think the numbers they had were a little shy of full potential in factory form due to the shape of the graph (maybe some KR on the pull???).

Assuming a 12% drivetrain loss....that's spot on with the rating.

I hate how everyone compares the mustang to the camaros. First of all the mustang GT comes with a 4.6L, the camaro ss has always came with atleast a 5.7L which is quite a bit different in size. the camaro should beat it, and whats the thing got now a 6.0L or bigger?? please.....give the mustang a year or so until the new 5.0L comes out, still atleast a whole liter smaller and i betcha it will be putting out about as much hp as its lsx counterparts in stock trim :secret:

WTF are you talking about? These cars have been in the same league since 1967. Ford is usually behind the Camaro in power numbers anyway, this is nothing new.
