04 Taurus TCC Solenoid Issues?

Friends mom has an 04 taurus that runs fine in park and reverse, but the second you drop it in a forward gear it dies. I am pretty sure it has to do with the TCC failing like all of them do on taurus's. My question is, how does on go about unhooking it to get her back on the road until she has the money to fix it?

I know there is 2 different transmissions for this car but I don't know which one it is off hand.
 
have the same problem with my 4t65e trans in my gtp, the shop wants 500 to fix it, but they unplugged it and plugged it back in and now it shifts. but im scareed to drive it anywhere now.
 
Its not possible to "disconnect" it temporary.
TCC solenoids are not that common to fail on either the ax4s or ax4n units. Most likely something else is wrong, and guessing is not going to fix anything. Take it to someone that knows how to properly diagnose it.
