03 silverado constantly goes into "reduced engine power"

A mysterious figure named Darko
got a 03 silverado 2500 here that we have some issues with. We use it as a work truck.
6.0l
2wd.

Issue is sometimes when driving the truck will lose power, start cutting spark to cylinders, and the speedo will say "reduced engine power"

You have to pull over, disconnect the battery, and reconnect it to have the problem go away.

I did notice it gets worse when you are on the expressway in overdrive....sometimes it will do it back to back 2-3 times.

any ideas?
 
are the brake lights staying on?
if the pcm see's brake and throttle for a set time or % it will go into reduced. check codes.

the check engine light goes off after a few miles of driving. I do have a faint memory of some type of TPS reading error when i checked it a while back

Depends, he needs to check the codes when it acts up, if it has a throttle position sensor code, its 99% the throttle body, if its a accerator pedal position sensor(APP) codel it is 99% the pedal, it is more often the throttle body.

my friend had this with his TBSS and he cleaned the crap out of the TB and the code has not come back.

all depends on the code, his was probably something about actual and commanded not agreeing

but if it is something about the 2 throttle position sensors(or APP sensors) not agreeing, then it needs the part
