03 Navigator Tranny issue.

So the o/d light came on the other day and it seems like it can't decide weather it wants to be in o/d or 3rd. Like its hunting for a gear. Seems to only happen after the vehicle warms up. Shut of the car o/d light didn't come on again.

Trans was pulled and valve body was replaced less than 1000 miles ago. Could it be the o/d switch is faulty? Is this a common thing for that trans?
 
The od light flashing indicates a code has been stored in the computer, and not its not "common" for the light to flash unless something has failed.
At this point the vehicle needs to be scanned to extract the dtc.
Sounds like the o/d switch is working just fine.
Why was the trans "pulled" and valve body replaced, and why is the vehicle not back where the work was preformed? Sounds to me like what ever work you just had done was not done correctly.

The original issue was that it would not shift into reverse. The work was done by a local Lincoln dealership that seems trustworthy. I guess I could get a code reader and check it out.
 
So I bought it from my father who had the work done. I get the feeling they won't just fix it if I take it back to the dealership.
 
They don't/won't know the title has changed. Besides, its family. Your father I'm sure paid good money to have it repaired properly. Take it back, tell them your dropping it off for your father, and have them contact your father if they have questions.
Don't except some bs excuse from the service writer....tell them to fix it properly. Tell them you/your fathers pissed off it was not repaired properly the first time. I would be super pissed and ask for a loaner/rental car at their expense.
