yesterday i was driving through northland parking lot and drove through a huge lake like puddle of water. immediatly after my car shuts off, takes about 20 min to crank back up. now it cuts off randomly, jerks, and surges, idles too low. any idea what is wrong? i took it to 2 small shops with no help, hooked it up to scanner, no codes. help me out car geniuses.

Pull the wires off the coil and dry everything out. That and scan the ECM and see if the MAF values are way outta range.

this is great, im pulling out my shop on 7 and conant, and now when you start it up it revs up to 3k rpms and stays there!!! wtf, so now i jus had it towed to my house 696 and greenfield. 90 bucks. i worked for free today lol

shop says the maf values are wayyyyy off, they want to replace that and recalibrate it, for some crazy price, and then they cant gaurantee thats it. cant i just buy used and install it my self? and do you think thats it?

thanks alot guys, ill try to clean it in the morning. i found one from a same year taurus for 30 bucks, should buy it and just plug it in and go or is it more complicated than that.

A can of MAF cleaner is $6 bucks try that first do not coat the sensor .....

$30 is a good deal

Plug and play it should be as long as its for the same engine and year

is this the 12v or 24 v?

12v non duratec motor. i found a 01 taurus hit hard that is being parted out, so hence the cheap part. shop is closed for weekend so i cant get my car til monday. fuckers
