Z06 question.

Also I seen the woodward vette cruise was just insane any of you guys do that?
The woodward cruise vette crew is a bunch of 70 year olds who cant get it up, sitting around comparing tire shine and corvette logo jackets. I bet 90% of the cool vette owners youll ever meet around Detroit are already motown members, lol

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't some Z06s from that era known as oil burners ? Or was that a different LS engine?

yea I was thinking that too, $12,500 would have been a good price. I'm still thinking it over. I sent him an email asking about the syncros and how bad it was, he hasn't replied.
but we believe transmission syncros may need maintenance
I'd get a hold of Rich "Detroit Gearbox" and find out how much to rebuild that trans.. My guess is EXPENSIVE!
The owner knows what the fuck is wrong with the car, he's hiding something.. IMO I wouldn't walk away.. I'd run!

Not sure if you seen this site Jim...

I see a few c5/c6 owners posting in this thread are they any local vette meets? or anything? Also I seen the woodward vette cruise was just insane any of you guys do that?

Zack (YLWFVR) is the unofficial coordinator for Motor City Vettes. Keep an eye on the Great Lakes section of CorvetteForum. I've been to the Corvettes on Woodward get-together the last few years just to meet up with Zack and Joel and check out the cars. Seeing 450+ Corvettes in one place is pretty cool. Then all hitting Woodward at once is a sight to see.

This was leaving the Raddison last year. Zack is in the yellow C5 coupe around :23 and I'm in my yellow C5Z at 1:15.

This was 2010 in my '70.

Pretty much. I dislike "Corvette people" but love the cars.

Sorry for the hijack. Jim - I think if you can get the car for $15k, try changing the fluid. If that doesn't fix it, Phil has an "in" at RPM.

Try changing the trans fluid first. If that doesn't fix it, drop it off at Phil's. $16k is a fair price.

I think Phil is familiar with these cars and their common problems. ;)

Buttercup Part 2!

I think that with the potential trans issue. He's going to have a hard time unloading it anywhere near his asking price. Reason why? If you look enough... there are minty ones without trans problems for just about that same price. I'd stick with your lowball offer. If you get it for that, then you win.

Otherwise:

That Front Bumper doesnt look original, and the mounting bolts Are wrong on the Fenders, they should be Black torx instead of the Phillips heads. the gaps on the Bumper/hood and hood/fender are off.
From My Corvette expierence, nobody puts those headlights on without a "reason" they are 5x cheaper than the Factory ones when you "need" em.

Hey no problem at all, tell you the truth you guys all pretty much answered my questions. It's an nice car but keep my eye's open and don't pay too much.
Hell your 70 is nice as hell too, I'd love to find something like that for a decent price.

Ding Ding Ding! I think we have a winner! I don't want one that's been rigged together. He still hasn't answered question my on the tyranny, I'm going to call and see if he can send me the full size original pictures and point that stuff out.

Deal would be off the table for me now, but depends on your plans for the car. May make it harder to sell in the future.
