Gonna have to agree with u on this one too. My z has more 1/4 mile passes on it than street miles...unwrecked and not ever a scare either that it might go south. Bad drivers drive everything. I'd be willing to bet there is more footage of bad drivers wrecking their mustangs at mustang week trying to do sally rolling burnouts than their are guys wrecking vettes

I was just going to post this...

Probably...these days, the last thing a news reporter will do is actual subject research before a story airs  Damn news people

they just showed the youtube clip and stpehn cark said " here you can see a corvette G5 and G6 racing on a busy public road and then crashing into each other"

If they are basing it on what could have happened, do they even have "attempted murder"? I'd hate to see how they deal with jaywalking! Probably lock you away in a padded cell under suicide watch! Seems like they're just trying to make an example and/or treating this differently because of how much attention it's received.

The article states that it was increased to a class 3 felony because one of the guys racing suffered bodily injury as a result of the race. Had they been charged for racing and there was no accident, it would have just been a misdemeanor. On top of everything, it's suspected that one of the drivers had a suspended license.

I'm sure most of us have been there at one time or another...truth is, it really needs to be reserved for track days. I'm not one who should be criticizing...but that's the truth. :icon_smil
