Yea, it was definitely the differential. Carnage inside

I blew the rear end in the cobra about a week ago. Tore it apart tonight and this is what I found.

Also, let me say that I LOVE working on mustangs/rwd cars. They are sooo much easier to work on than pretty much any fwd car I've ever worked on. The relatively low miles and lack of michigan winter damage doesn't hurt either.

Enjoy. I know I won't when I see the credit card bill...considering the clutch started slipping the day after the blower install and the trans started dying a week before the rear end.

A lil' JB Weld and she's good as new.

While you have the IRS out, LEAVE IT OUT and put in a solid axle. Best mod I ever did to my 99 Cobra!

I edited the last section about the credit card, lol.

I have a feeling I'll be keeping the IRS. It will be cheaper to build what I have than go solid and end up replacing my catback, shocks, springs, brakes, etc.

Besides, its a street car and I like being different with the IRS.

Put your money where your mouth is, shit talker.

Average conversation with Shane:
Eric: What's up
Shane: You're car is slow
Eric: Wanna run em?
Shane: Nah, I still need to (blah blah blah) before I can or my (blah blah blah) felt funny on the way here
Eric: So who's car is slow?

Sounds about right. Lots of talk and never any follow through.

Eww IRS gross.

It's okay though. I know you bought a Mustang Cobra with the hopes of Autocrossing it. That's why you put the blower on, right?

1/4 mile is gay :)

Actually, the cobra has seen an autocross track. I bought the blower because I missed boost. Now everything is broken and I miss it again, lol.

4.6L DOHC ford modular
Aluminum front plate
Mild steel mid plate
pnp heads and intake manifold
cam kit
t45 (converting to rwd)
01 Cobra front brakes (13")
05+ mustang GT rear end (3 link with panhard bar)
8 pt cage
mini tub
17x8 up front, 17x10 rear

That's all I can think of for now. I'm still collecting parts, been pretty busy lately. It'll be an autocross/road course/street car, 400whp at 2600lb.

I have front and rear rotors from a 99 Cobra in my garage. You can have them if you like.

Hey, I appreciate the offer. Where do you live? If its too far it might be cheaper to buy them, lol. I have the calipers already, still need spindles, hubs, rotors, etc.

Jon, you're still a bitch.

Oh, and front suspension and steering will be a custom SLA off of a custom H bar and probably a pony rack, haven't decided.
