WTF?!? Insurance scam?

so I get this letter in the mail yesterday from a collection agency saying that their client has been trying to find me to pay for an accident I was in on the 7th of April this year, and that I owe them money. Problem is I wasn't in any accidents, nor were any of my vehicles. I looked up the collection company on line and they seem legit, I have no clue what to do though, I think I will end up calling my insurance agent and see what he says. Has anyone had this happen to them before? Seems like a scam to me.

Read the fine print at the bottom of the letter..you have 30 days to verify the validity of the debt.

tell them to bite it you are in michigan its a no fault state their insurance covers their car. Tell them if they continue to contact you you will sue for harassment

I got a voicemail a week ago like thata from some Habibi-hamish from india telling me to have my "attorney of the courts" call right away or else. Then he says "Goood Luuuuck...." Sounds like BS to me.

There was an incident this year where my camaro got keyed, but so did everyone else's on the block. So that shouldn't have anything to do with it I would think, and I think that was in may not in April.
