WTB: Speaker Stands

I need a pair of 36" tall speaker stands for somewhat large speakers. Don't really care what they look like because they will be behind a couch.

Rbod have you considered making your own ? for really large speakers I would suggest maybe making your own stands and filling them with sand.

My thoughts exactly. Itll cost you ~$40 to make a nice pair of stands. You can use PVC filled with sand for the posts, and finished wood for the bases. A nice heavy duty pair of stands like these would cost you quite a bit more to buy outright.

That is a very good idea. I don't have a lot of wood working tools around but it looks like with a saw, some sandpaper, and black spray paint I'll be jammin. Thanks guys.

I followed the basic design from TNT Audio and they came out rather well. With a little paint and some finishing touches I think they'll look really good.

Awesome job. Did you fill the posts with sand?

I did. I'm probably going to take them apart to have the edges of the wood routed over. When I do that I'm going to run speaker wire through the tube and add some terminals on the base for them also. I think I'll make a little project post in the pub to show people how easy this is.
