Anyone selling a guitar? Looking for my son and he really wants a Les Paul (probably an Ephiphone) or one that is not common in shape/style. Doesn't have to be mint and cannot be expensive. Okay if it needs some (little) repair too.....maybe. Okay, so are we clear? Viper dreams on a Fiat budget :)
 
You can get a really nice epi for around 500. The custom and ultra are very nice for the money with all the "real" paul specs. Set neck, maple cap on a mahagony body, binding, decent pups.
 
Thanks for the info. Around 200 is the right number, but he already has a Jackson similar to the Dinky. Also looking for something without a Floyd Rose too. He is working on Palm Muting and the Floyd is sensitive. I know, if you can PM on a Floyd you can do it on anything....
 
I know it will, but you never know. If I don't have it for Christmas, I have 2 more months for his b-day. So I just have to be patient. Post up pix of the Jackson in this thread. Maybe someone else would be interested.
 
Craigslist is probably the best bet. I picked up a 92 MIK Epi Custom for $200 off a guy that didn't know what he had. Just keep an eye out and you'll find something.
 
Look at Epiphone Special II. Cheap les Pauls and good starter guitars. I had one and I paid $75 bucks for it. Ended up selling it for $80 six-years later. lol

They have these new ones called the Epiphone Special II GT. It comes with a whammy that you'd probably want to take off. It would make the guitar go out of tune if you looked at it funny. It also has a kill-switch built into it. $199 new at Guitar Center. He is the listing for it.

The whole point of having a les paul is having a short scale, set neck, mahagony guitar. The chinese built special 2 is none of the above. Its a 25 1/2 scale bolt on neck thats actually more like a strat cut out in the shape of a les paul. This kids already got a good quality pro level Jackson. Dont think hes gonna dig a starter axe

This is what I found and bought on Ebay....Tobacco Sunburst...F'g sweet!

Epiphone Les Paul Custom Plus Top with HS Case. Used But no bad damage just the usual little marks here and there. Few scratches on back some paint missing on back of head stock etc etc.. look at pics. But nothing bad its a very nice guitar ready to be rocked! I am thining out my guitar collection and dont play this one as much as I should since I got a PRS. Comes with a nice TKL hard shell case. Very nice case. has some wear on the out side like any other case would.. everything works all electronics and pick up switch.. Very sweet finish on it. I havent seen to many like it. Action is low with no buzzing. Very minor fret wear but doesnt effect playing or buzz at all. Same as any used guitar im sure..

370 shipped with the HSC. I cannot complain, it is really clean. It is the custom with front and back binding, binding on the headstock, custom inlays. He will be super excited - 3 more weeks!
