WTB 8 inch Ford trac loc/posi/true trac/aubrn/eaton/locker

Looking for an 8 (yes 8) inch posi unit for my 1969 Mustang. 28 spline would be preferred.
Hard to find Item as you know. I was looking for a decent deal on this for a couple of years for my dads 64 Fairlane. I ended up getting him an Explorer 8.8. I think it was cheaper, it is stronger, plus w/disc brakes and 31 splines.

That is what I used in the '66 mustang. Plus it was a factory locker rear end.

I have the 8" out of the mustang, but I'm 90% sure it is no posi-lock

I was kicking around the idea of the 8.8 but the explorer rear is offset so that's not the best option. I just finished my brakes and all of that nonsense so Id really prefer to just swap out the diff as opposed to swapping the rear axle. I have found a few on ebay ranging from 300-500.

Look up 8.8 narrowing. Pretty easy conversion. Can get away with narrowing one axle tube then using Two pass side axles. This will solve your width and offset issues.

I will try and find the link of the step by step

So what is a real world price on that tho? Id have the cost of the axle, the cost of the whole rear end, the cost of the brakes and the time to do all of it but im not sure how much it is to narrow it.
