WTB: 4L60E for F-body HELP!!!

Buddy of mine was just driving home and got in it a little bit and now there hole in the casing of his tranny the size of a fist.


i feel bad for they guy, hes got like 30k in to this thing and has been screwed around and screwed over (he bought the car bone stock, drove it like a granny for a week and the trans was smoked) then had a "reputable shop" rebuild it with all top notch parts 4k miles ago and now this. and the shop didnt give him a warranty....


anyways not to bore you guys, he needs a GOOD trans, a stock one will work, no junk, he doesnt have a whole lot of bread to throw around either (wonder why)

its a 97' but im pretty sure a 94up will work. 96 and prior just a different plug or someshit...i dont remember, but the trannys were the same....if i do remember right.

two things. take the trans back to the reputable shop back and have them look at it. they may be able to repair it much cheaper than you think.
second 1996-1997 are the only years that will interchange. its a hard core to find. i sold a bare case last week for 150.00. local trans supply house gets 250, just for the case for that year.

you ought to be able to swap tailhousings, its the only difference, had to do it on my 700r4

found a good deal on one from a guy on here, but its from an LS1. anybody know if there interchangeable? bellhousing/computer hook-up wise??

nope, higher spline count on the input shaft

oh, is that the old style case + speed sensors? grr....pain in the but to find
