We have been looking around for a new dinette set and we cant seem to find anything I like. So, I was thinking of refinishing our current set instead but don't want to tackle it myself.
Does anyone do this on the board or knows a dude who knows a dude or place to do it.

Thanks in advance.

It isnt overly hard to do. The only thing playing against you is the cooler weather. If you have a heated garage, youll be set. Get some wood stripper from the hardware store, brush it on, wait an hour till the old finish bubbles up, and it will rub/scrape off quite easily. Once dry, hit it with your stain of choice, and put a generous coat of Feed 'n Wax on...good as new. Thats the way I refinish speaker cabinets.

I did my old dining set. Stripped it all by hand, sanded, stained & polyurethaned. It was a bit of work, but came out great! I even recovered the chairs and replaced the seat foam underneath too. It was an old solid oak table with a cool design. I believe it was actually sold to another member on this board. ;)

Sorry, don't know anyone off the top of my head to refer you to Phil.

do it yourself it isn't that hard re covering chairs is easy if you have a staple gun
be carefull with chemical wood strippers indoors
matter of fact be careful with strippers period wear gloves and they also remove glue that the wood is held together with
