Winter Car Prep: Big, Blacked-Out, and Bad *** Jeep Wrangler

I don't have a DA yet. So I'll probably wait until then. Thanks, though! M26 is indeed amazing. As of now, it's my favorite product. I don't use NXT too much....it streaks a lot, whereas M26 doesn't at all.
Did you guys do the interior of the Jeep?

Likely due to M26 being a thicker product, which therefor applies more thin and even rather than a blotchy liquid. No interior work on the Jeep - it was in pretty good shape and the client was most concerned with the type of work he couldn't come close to on his own

Man I wish I'd had your number when I was in Detroit. I would have paid you to do my GTO so I wouldn't have to. Excellent work.
So do you guys use Jetseal109 or 50/50 for any of your LSP's?

Well next time you're here, hit us up!
We do use JetSeal109. I find it a pretty nice overall product. Easy on, super easy off, nice look, good protection. Other sealants we often use are Danase Sealant, Danase Wet Glaze, Blackfire Wet Diamond, Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant 3.0, Zaino Z2/Z3, and no doubt there are some others I can't think of. As for waxes.... Dodo Juice Supernatural, Wolfgang Fuzion, Rubbish Boy's Original Edition, Pinnacle Souveran, and Lusso Oro are probably our favorites, though we have double that amount. We don't have 50/50 or XXX but I hear many good things about them

Man you do great work, I hate wheeling jeeps like that with all of their edges and crevices in the body.
Couple questions: could you explain your sealant process? You say you use ultrafine polish only, I normally apply my sealant by machine (Ardex Seal-B) and have great finishing results. Looks like i might have to try the danase wet seal out.
Also, what is your foaming setup? Is it an attachment for a powerwasher? I could REALLY use something like that for my truck, the grime under there never seems to want to give. Was the Barebones applied with the foamer as well? edit: also is this a long lasting prep? I normally coat my undercarriages with either lithium grease or fluid film before winter, but its a pain to get off in the spring.
PS - the Leather New saddlesoap was exactly what the leather in my truck needed, wish i would have found that product a long time ago!

The 3M Ultrafina is a polish - not a sealant. It's made to take out very fine defects / finish down properly after a heavy polish.
The Ultrafina helped to remove swirls, but couldn't take all paint defects completely out. Because of this, and to add additional slickness prior to protection, we applied Danase Wet Glaze. It's a product designed to add protection, gloss, and help mute defects. After that step, we added an acrylic sealant, in this case Danase Paint Sealant, for added protection and gloss.
We use the foam cannon in the only way it can be properly used: attached to a pressure washer.
The Bare-Bones is an oil-based protectant. Because it's not water based (and therefor not water soluble), it takes much longer to properly dry, but last much much longer. While it adds protection, it also dresses all undercarriage components.
Hope this clears up some things

When can i bring you my truck?? How long do you need it?

Well... we're still not sponsors (though hope to do that soon enough), so I won't openly talk about details, but I can tell you that we have no openings for another week and a half. If you google us, you can find our site in which our contact information is listed, or PM me for further info!

Thanks for the love guys,
Marc

I may have you do some work to a 96 Jimmy. Just want it washed clayed and a sealant put on it. I can tackle the 4+ years of no polishing in the spring...LOL
Funny you should even mention Dodo Juice. I just put a coat of RBOE on the GTO yesterday. I've also got some Blue Velvet, Supernatural, Purple Haze, and Rubbish Boy's OE.

I see you really know you're products! I really like Purple Haze a lot - easier to use over Blue velvet as it's much softer. RBOE has a huge fan club, but i put it in the same category as Supernatural: a PITA to use at times with lots of sweating problems.

Yeah I'm a junkie when it comes to good detail products. It really doesn't help when I have a CG dealer less than 20 minutes from my house...LOL
I found that applying RBOE and Supernatural by hand to be an experience like no other. Course seeing how the water beads up on my hands after doing something like that is rather comical.
I've gotta get some finished shots of the GTO and post up my hard work from Saturday.

+1 thank you

Not a problem!

all of the detailers on this site always amaze me !

Surely some guys doing some nice work around here

I hear you, and please do post up some pics

I like the wheels..

My other half's Jeep:

^ two door Jeep FTW! I hope to have one sooner or later. Surely would be nice in the Winter

I'd look for an 05-07 TJ Unlimited. You have the 4.0 which is basically bulletproof, and you have a longer wheelbase which will rock in the snow, and still have 2 doors. That's my plan in a few years.

Matt,

great work on the jeep!!

Just a bit off topic, but i have 03 cobra seats with the 'suede' inserts in my car which are in really good condition. I'm looking to keep them that way. Do you have any suggestions on how to treat these along with the leather and products to use??

PM me if needed.

TIA.

Thanks for the compliments.
I'd recommend only one brand in this case: Leather Master's.
They're not the cheapest out there, but they are very good, and their smaller bottles should last you plenty long. You'll need the strong foaming leather/suede/nubuck cleaner, Leather protectant, and suede/nubuch protectant. These three products should cost you between $40-60 AKA at least $960 bucks cheaper than new seats or having your seats refinished.
Let me know if you need additional help!

Nice work man. I love the Danase line and like supporting them because they are a local company.
