If you have never heard about us, or been to our event, it is a BLAST to attend (Carshow or race, and even spectate!!) There is non-stop action and eye candy for all fellow gear heads to watch the whole day. We are a Not-for-profit corp, who put in TONS of Volunteer man/woman hours to put this on, to benefit the kids at Riley Hospital for Children thru the Cheer Guild. I swore this was on this site somewhere, but I cant find it. So here is what we are doing on "Event" day.
CARSHOW ONLY!!!
If you DON'T want to race, but want to enter the carshow ONLY, there will be a place for a CARSHOW to park and meet new friends, show all of the fans your ride- just like a "normal carshow" only better! LOL. That is $15 to enter that, and you enter the CARSHOW ONLY at the track on May 9th (Maps/directions up soon on gates to enter, etc.) If you are comming in a large convoy please let us know the number of cars you anticipate comming, so we can park you as best as we can, together.
TONS OF TROPHIES/AWARDS will be handed out!! These are NICE TROPHIES TOO
FOR RACERS ONLY!!!!
If you want to toss your hat in the ring and RACE with us, you have to pre-register for that, and entry is $80. You DO NOT NEED RACING EXPIERENCE TO RACE WITH US (In fact, ALOT of racers get started with us, and have never set foot in an autox track, or dragstrip!!) so don't be intimidated!! JUMP IN!
There are the following classes your car will be in: TOP GUN/A/B/C/D/E/F. You look at the registration to get your BASE CLASS, and the more mods you put on your car, the more classes you get bumped up.
This is a STREETCAR SHOOTOUT: "TEAM USA vs TEAM IMPORT" Doesn't matter what class you are in, you will be classed with cars with "like mods", and the racing is up to the driver to win their class, and help amass more TOTAL points (in all classes )then the opposing team has!!
EACH "RACER" on the Grid will have to complete 4-5 Autox times, PLUS 4-5 Slalom runs, PLUS do 5 DRAG PASSES down the strip!! All are timed, lowest is a keeper for your team!! The Drag FINALE will be HEADS UP elimination like last year. Fastest Import pitted against Fastest TEAM USA car, for King of your class, on the drags.
There will also be a RACERS CARSHOW (Opposed and seperate from GENERAL CARSHOW). This is where you park your car with all the other ones in your run group and walk around, watch the racing, go visit the vendors/carshow, etc... So you will get a break from the racing to take in what all the spectators are checking out.
We will post the run-groups later, so some classes, for example all start on autox, then move to RACERS CARSHOW (Break) then Drags. There is action on every area of ORP that day, so look for lots of fun!!! MANY TROPHIES/AWARDS for the racers as well.
TOP GUN Class: 2nd year running this class, but it is a "Balls out class" whereas you can run slicks, change tires, get hired gun drivers, etc... (ONLY CLASS WITH THIS OPTION)
There will be CHAMPION DRAG TROPHIES for each class, and whatever car in your class amasses the most points in all events gets 1st place/ then 2nd place, etc....
So there will be 1st/2nd/3rd place trophies for each class!!!! If you rule for example class "B" (All imports and all TEAM USA cars in your class) You are TOP DOG and get a FIRST PLACE TROPHY.
